Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
